NJel 1439 AD the Council of Florence becomes a "dogma" of faith, the legend of the Purgatory. There is absolutely nothing in the Christian scriptures which alludes to a similar "place" metaphysical. This belief is encouraged by the Catholic Church for the sole purpose of scaring the faithful and, at the same time, to make them more dependent on the indulgences of the Church concerned.
